Although originally brought to the farm to protect our goats from predators, the Anatolian Shepherds have proven themselved to be wonderful "weenie watchers". They are very laid-back and tolerant of the craziness that a pack of dachshunds can sometimes elicit.

"Rumi"  male Anatolian Shepherd
born 12/13/2008
Rumi is the alpha male here on the farm.
His primary job is to stay with the milkers and watch over them while they are out browsing in the woods.  He sleeps in the goat barn at night, but will fly over the barn wall if he senses a threat.
Rumi is very bonded with his goats and will stay with as they wander over the large acreage in search of browse.
He is also a good perimeter guard dog, his watchful eyes and ears ever on alert.
